What is the climate in Hozugawa (Kameoka City)?

The temperature is average for the Kansai area.

Spring and fall are a bit lower, so if you are considering joining us in spring or fall, please be careful what you wear.

Wetsuits and other clothing are available for rent on the rafting trip, so please do not worry.

For those who get cold easily, ask us to wear a double layer, etc. Please ask us about this.

【Temperature on the Hozu River?】

The water temperature of the Hozu River is a little high.

This makes it easy to raft and swim.

The water temperature is about the same as a swimming pool in summer season, and about the same as a water bath in spring and fall.

Wetsuits are not used more often in June-September.

Can I raft without a swimsuit?

Yes, as long as you have something to wear in place of a swimsuit.

This is an example of a non-swimsuit substitute.

Cotton items are difficult to dry and get cold easily, so chemical fiber items (e.g., polyurethane and polyester) are recommended.

Specific examples of synthetic fibers include rash guards, leggings, and AIRism by UNIQLO.

During seasons when wetsuits are rented out, swimsuits and other items should be worn inside the wetsuit.

Can I go rafting even if I can’t swim?

Yes, you can raft, as we wear life jackets and helmets.

We are ready for each guest a life jacket of the correct size for rafting.

Also, the Hozu River rafting is a medium level of rapids, as the sightseeing boats also go through the same course.

The rapids do not go on all the time during the tour.

Please feel free to swim and float in the gentle points.

Can I go rafting if I am on my period?

Yes, you can participate in rafting. There may be female staff, so please feel free to ask for advice!

Our wetsuits are black, so they are not noticeable.

→When a sanitary napkin gets wet, it becomes puffy and may cause uncomfortable feeling.

Do I need to arrive at the meeting place with my clothes changed?

No, you do not need to.
We have separate changing rooms for men and women at our meeting place.

We will also have time for you to change your clothes, so you will be fine.

After checking in, please fill out the agreement form.

After the explanation of how to change clothes, you will change in turn.

If there is enough time left before the start time, you may change before the start.

Wetsuits are also available for rent depending on the time of season.

This time, we had two women, nicknames are Tomo and Amigo.They enjoyed white water rafting on the Hozu River near Kyoto.

At the age of 53, I had my first rafting experience. I had a stereotype that rafting was something for young people, and to be honest, I was a bit nervous at first. But, however, it was a lot of fun!

With the rafting guide’s guidance, we were ready to go down the river…paddling down the huge rapids. I felt like Indiana Jones.

We squatted, lay down, swam, etc., as the guide told us to… Thanks to the guide, who knows the river and knows how to make it exciting, we had a safe and enjoyable time. Our Nepalese guide was also friendly. He was a strong and reliable guide who could be counted on no matter what happened.

Even though my physical strength was a little less than that of a young man, I was able to enjoy a safe and enjoyable rafting experience. I was a bit nervous about the half-day course and thought, “What? Already finished?

Anyway, the scenery was great, the rapids were powerful, and I want to go back next year! I recommend Hozugawa rafting! It’s also interesting to take the train back home at the end of the day, it’s a great feeling. LOL!

Can I park buses?

Large buses are required to park in a separate toll parking lot.

Please contact the pay parking lot in front of Trolley Kameoka Station directly.

ne or two medium-sized buses can be parked. However, please let us know in advance as the lot may be full.

If you are coming by car and our parking lot is full, please use the parking lot for regular cars across from the Trolley Kameoka Station.

The Hozu River is said to be the most biggest white water rafting course in the Kinki area.

The Hozu Valley, where the scenery changes with the seasons, is full of attractions.

White water half-day rafting is a 5km course, family rafting is a 2km course.

At a gentle point on the way down the rapids, you can swim or jump in!

(In family rafting, you can dive from the boat.)
